Sigo buscando un lugar donde pueda caerme muerto
I keep looking for a place to die
This is a long-term project that explores my personal experience as a young man with suicidal thoughts over the past decade. It is part of a larger series addressing the issue of suicide in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and represents its most personal dimension.
In this project, I work with cartography and my personal archive to create, reimagine, and confront the places where these thoughts have directly impacted me—whether from within myself (with a suicidal tendency) or in a more incidental way, as if this issue could find me on its own terms.
I write about these visited places as a poetic exercise, aiming to problematize and deconstruct my own subjectivity and to create new approaches and experiences around these spaces.
I have been working on this series/archive since August 2023, though I have been addressing the topic of suicide in various forms over the last ten years through different projects. Some of these projects approach the issue in a collective and community-focused way, others through performance, software development for a VR experience, and installations for public exhibitions.
